Triumph Rocket 3 221 Special Edition Launched in India

 

Triumph Motorcycle has launched the Rocket 3 221 edition in India. The special edition motorcycle has named after the peak torque output of 221Nm. Currently, it is the highest peak torque that is produced by any production motorcycle in the world. The special edition comes with some cosmetic changes and mechanical features remain the same as that of the standard Rocket 3 models.

The Triumph Rocket 3 221 features a specific colour scheme of Red Hopper on the fuel tank and front mudguard which contrasts with the Sapphire Black mudguard brackets, windscreen, side panels, rear section, radiator cowls and headlamp cowls. The figure, ‘221’ can be seen on either side of the bike’s fuel tank. The new motorcycle offers four riding modes; Road, Rain, Sport and Rider. Moreover, the TFT screen and under-seat USB charging socket allure Triumph fans.

Under the hood, the Triumph Rocket 3 221 is powered by a 2,500cc, three-cylinder engine that can produce a maximum output of 165bhp at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a torque-assist hydraulic clutch.

As far as safety is concerned, the Triumph Rocket 3 221 is equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheel, ABS, traction control, cruise control, hill hold control and keyless ignition. Suspension duties on the vehicle are carried out by USD Showa cartridge forks at the front and a fully adjustable Showa mono-shock at the rear side.

Price and availability

In terms of price and availability, the Triumph Rocket 3 221 has been launched in two variants; R and GT. The R trim costs Rs. 20.80 lakh(ex-showroom) whereas the GT model costs Rs 21.40 lakh. (ex-showroom).
