Kia Becomes Fastest Carmaker to Sell 3 Lakh Vehicles in India
Kia India becomes the fastest brand to cross the 3 lakh vehicle milestone in the domestic automotive markets. Kia succeeded in marking its name as the fastest carmaker to surpass 3 lakh sales in the automobile industry in less than two years.
The South Korean brand has crossed the first 1 lakh sales milestone in July 2020. The 2 lakh milestone has completed in January 2021. The brand has achieved the record of 3 lakh sale in August 2021.
As per the report, 66% of the total sales for the brand is contributed by Seltos. Kia Seltos was first car from the brand to launch in India in August 2019. Compact SUV Sonet contributed 32% of the sales and Carnival MPV has sold 7,310 units in India within a short span of time.
The kia brand aims to expand its footprint to 360 touch points rather than the older 300, covering 90 percentage of the Indian market by incorporating tier III, IV cities and up country markets.
Pricing of Kia Brands
The Kia Seltos is priced between Rs.9.95 lakh and RS 17.65 lakh. The kia Sonet is available for RS 6.79 lakh and goes up to RS 13.25. The Kia Carnival has priced between RS 24.95 and RS 33.95 lakh( All prices are ex-showroom, India).
