Volkswagen Unveiled Taigo Crossover For European Market

Volkswagen has unveiled the Taigo compact crossover for the European market. The Taigo is essentially a Euro-spec version of Nivus crossover that was revealed last year.

Specifications Of Volkswagen Taigo

Built around MQB-AO platform, Volkswagen Taigo is a five-seater SUV that retains a coupe-like sloping roofline at the rear side. The new variant also comes up with an upgraded IQ.

Taigo offers several features including a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system based on the third generation of MIB3, wireless charging, light LED matrix headlights, colour coded heated electric door mirrors, touch-sensitive climate control among others. Safety is ensured by multiple airbags, autonomous emergency braking with front and lane assist.

The Volkswagen Tiago is available with two petrol engine options; 1-litre and 1.5-litre TSI units. The 1-litre TSI produced a maximum output of 94 bhp and 110 bhp whereas the 1.5-liter unit produces maximum output of 148bhp. The transmission duties are handled by a 5 or 6-speed manual, or a 7speed DSG gearbox. It will be going on sale exclusively with a front-wheel-drive layout.

As far as dimension is concerned, it comes with a length of 4,266 mm, a width of 1,757 mm, and a height of 1,493mm. The wheelbase measures 2,566mm.

Price And Availability

The Volkswagen Taigo will be available for 28 countries in European Union along with Turkey and Africa in early 2022. The pricing details of the entrant are not disclosed yet.
