The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) has updated the rules of international driving permits and now the Indian citizens can able to renew their international driving permits via the Indian embassies and the missions aboard.

A person who is trying to renew the permits will be moved to the VAHAN portal in India and the same will be considered for renewal of the respected RTOs. Well, that means users are not required to visit India for the purpose and this is really a big relief for the users.

The updated rule of the international driving permits also removes the requirement of providing the medical certificate as well as the valid Visa at the time of applying for the new license. The officials say that a citizen who is having a valid driving license then he or she is not needed to submit a separate medical certificate. It is also said that some countries offer visa at the last moment and the same makes a huge problem in the mind of a person and that’s why the government removes this condition as well.

It is worth noting that the officials have also extended the validity of all the documents of your vehicle till March 31, 2021, and the new decision has been taken in the scenario of the coronavirus.
