The Czech automaker, Skoda has announced the launch of the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift in India on January 10. Skoda Auto has discontinued the Kodiaq from the Indian market in April 2020 due to BS6 norms. However, the Czech automaker introduced a mid-life Facelift on the Kodiaq in April with some notable changes. The new seven-seater SUV will come with a host of cosmetic tweaks, new features and a BS6 compliant petrol engine. Production of the Skoda Kodiaq facelift has begun at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, ahead of the SUV’s launch in January 2022.

The Skoda Kodiaq Facelift comes with some design tweaks such as a new multi-slate butterfly grille, slimmer LED headlights, LED DRL’s, redesigned alloy wheels and refreshed bumper.

The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq gets a refreshed cabin with features like a 9.2-inch infotainment system,10.25-inch instrument cluster,12-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, ten colour ambient lighting and a new two-spoke multifunctional steering g wheel. However, the layout and theme of the cabin remain unchanged.

under the hood, 2022 Skoda Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that can produce a maximum output of 190bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Earlier, Skoda Kodiaq sold only with the diesel engine.

As far as safety is concerned, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift is equipped with multiple airbags, traction control, hill assist and rear parking sensors.

Price and Availability

In terms of price and availability, the unofficial bookings have already started for the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq at selected Skoda dealerships and delivery will begin on January 14. The pricing details of the new entrant will be announced on January 10, 2022. The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner Petrol and Volkswagen Tiguan.
