Skoda Auto India To Hike Prices Up to 3% From 1 January 2022

Skoda Auto India has announced a price hike of all its vehicles from 2022. The Czech carmakers cite rising input and operational costs as the reason for the price hike up to three per cent. Currently, Skoda sells Kushaq, Kodiak, Octavia among others in the domestic market.

Zac Hollis, Brand Director, SKODA AUTO India, commented that “Despite the macroeconomics challenges the brand has worked to ensure that the customer impact in terms of the incremental price increase is minimal”

The company has not revealed the new model wise price lists and it is expected to be revealed early next month. However, last month the brand has increased the price of the Skoda Kushaq Active 1.0 TSI MT variant by Rs.3,000 and it retails now at Rs. 10.79 Lakh. Skoda had stellar success with Kusaq as it has received 20,000 bookings in the first six months of its launch.

Skoda has also joined the list of carmakers like Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, and Honda who have already announced the hike of vehicle prices from next month.

Thus 2022 would be a challenging year for the Indian Auto industry with the semiconductor issues, production and supply chain issues. Moreover, the price hikes may result in many altering their minds to bring home a new vehicle.
