Kia Motors has unveiled its upcoming model named Kia Carens for the Indian market. The South Korean carmakers claim that Carens fit neither the SUV segment nor an MPV but a perfect blend of both styles. Specifications of Kia Carens

Kia Carens embody a Tiger face front grille with chrome garnish and dual function LED DRLs which is placed in such a way that it acts as an extension of the grille. Moreover, it is flanked by a set of LED fog lamps and the rear side features L- shaped tail lamps with a reflector stripe in the Centre. The Kia Carens also have a chiseled front bumper, faux skid plate, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Kia Motors claims that it has the largest wheelbase among three-row vehicles which provides ample space for passengers inside. It is available in three new colour variants such as silver, Brown, and Blue.

Kia Carens incorporate several features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, UVO connectivity features as that of Seltos, digital instrument console, Bose Audio system with 8 speakers, five USB Type C-ports, wireless charger, electric sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, air purifier, ventilated front seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel.

As far as safety is concerned, Kia Carens is equipped with six airbags and all four disc brakes as standard, ABS, ESC, hill assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors, automatic climate control, TPMS, etc.

Under the hood, it is believed that the new Carens will be available in both petrol and diesel engines with multiple transmission options including the seven-speed DCT and six-speed automatic options.

Price and availability

In terms of price and availability, Kia Carens are expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2022, and prices are expected to range between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom ).
