New Citroen C3 Unveiled Ahead of 2022 Launch
French automaker, Citroen has unveiled C3 Compact SUV globally on September 16, 2021. The compact SUV will be the first model under Citroen’s C-cubed program for emerging markets like India and South America. The Citroen C3 will go against the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger among others. The car comes as the brand’s second offering in India after the C5 Aircross SUV.
Specifications Of Citroen C3
The Citroen C3 is based on the CMP modular platform and features a double slat grille, heavy black cladding all around the body with orange accents on the front bumper, side cladding, roof rails, and dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. It gets a split headlamp setup with LED DRLs. Further, the SUV will come with 180 mm of ground clearance.
The Citroen C3 offers a spacious cabin with features like a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, smartphone holder, 3-spoke steering wheel, Automatic Ac, and more. Furthermore, the Citroen C3 will offer four color options such as Orange-White, Orange- Black, Blue -White and Grey-Black combinations.
Under the hood, the Citroen C3 is powered by a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that can produce a maximum output of 130 bhp and it is mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. No information regarding the availability of diesel engine options for the C3. As far as safety is concerned, it is equipped with multiple airbags, ABS, parking sensors, and more.
Price and Availability
In terms of pricing and availability, the Citroen C3 will be produced at the Thiruvallur facility in Tamil Nadu and the series production begin from December 2021. The price of C3 will be announced in the first half of 2022. However, the Citroen C3 is expected to be in a price range of 8- 13 lakhs(ex-showroom).
