The registration process of the new BH series number plates is quite simple and the same can be done online platform that is called Vahan Portal with the help of a dealer to complete the registration process.

That said the new BH series number plates will be the usual ones for private vehicles, with black text and white background. However, there will be a change in the format of the text and numbers – Format: YY BH #### XX.

Y represents the year of first registration and BH to reveal Bharat while four # sign stands for 0000-9999 numbers. Finally, XX for all combinations of AA to ZZ. (the letters I and O are not used).

The new BH series changes the taxation structure as well. and it is said that the vehicle with a value of less than ₹10 lakh, the owners need to be paid 8% road tax. If the vehicle cost between ₹10-₹20 lakh, then you need to pay 10% road tax.

Having said that, if your vehicle is powered by a diesel engine then you need to pay 2% and the electric engine saves the owner 2% tax on their vehicle.
