Ducati has officially launched its adventure tourer Multistrada V4 and V4S. The company claims that Ducati Multistrada V4 is the first production bike in the world to adopt radar technology. The launch of the V4 made all three models of Ducati V4 on sale in India.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is powered by a V4 Granturismo engine which produces a maximum output of 170 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 8,750 rpm. The noteworthy change in the engine is that it replaces Ducatis’s conventional desmodromic valve system with valve springs. The company boast of 60,000 km valve clearance interval for the Multistrada V4. The motorcycle cycle also has a cylinder deactivation system that shuts down the rear cylinder bank when the bike is stopped at a traffic light.V4 has a wheelbase of 1,567mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm. The fuel capacity is 22 litres and the engine weighs only 66.7 kg.
The new Multistrada V4 has a set of features such as 5 inch TFT display, an integrated navigation system that supports smartphone connectivity, cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control(DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control(DWC), adjustable windscreen, split Step- up seats. Additionally, the V4S variant has vehicle hold control, an LED lighting system with DCL, Ducati Quick-shift, and a semi-active Ducati skyhook suspension control system.
It offers four riding modes such as Urban, Enduro, Sport, and Touring. The most interesting feature about the new entrant is the rear radar-assisted adaptive cruise control which is available on the V4S trim. The radar technology also helps in detecting and reporting vehicles approaching the Blindspot. The Multistrada V4 is available in red color with cast wheels whereas the Multistrada V4S is available both in Red and Aviator grey.
In terms of price and availability, V4 has priced at Rs.18.99 lakh .V4S in red is priced at Rs 23.10 lakh and V4S in grey is priced at Rs.23.30 lakh(ex-showroom). The Multistrada V4 is expected to reach showrooms early next week and pre-booking of the vehicle has already begun.
