Ola Electric has announced that the firm has started to set up a Hypercharger network across India. Customers can charge their electric scooters via these Hyperchargers. The facility is cost-free until the end of June 2022. Ola Electric has started to install new hyper charging stations at BPCL petrol pumps and residential complexes. The company decided to set up 1,00,000 charging stations across 400 cities in India. In the first year itself, Ola will set up 5,000 charging stations across 100 cities. Currently, the CEO of Ola, Bhavish Aggarwal, tweeted that over 4,000 charging points will be set up by the next year.
The firm claims that this venture will be the largest and densest electric two-wheeler charging network in the world. They also claim that the Ola Hyper charger Network will be the fastest two-wheeler charging network. The Ola electric scooter can be charged half of the battery in 18 minutes for a 75 km range. The charging status of the battery can be viewed on an Ola Electric app and the same app can be used to pay for the charging. Moreover, the Ola Hypercharger network will offer an effortless charging experience to customers as they have to simply arrive at a charging station and plug their vehicle into the charging point.
Ola Electric Hypercharger network will be complemented by the home charger that requires no installation. The home charger gives the customer the facility of charging at home by simply plugging into a wall socket for overnight charging.
Ola Electric has confirmed that it will extend its Hypercharger across cities to ensure the presence of a Hypercharge and will be found in places frequently visited by people such as IT parks, malls cafes, office complexes and more.
