Ather has expanded its electric scooters portfolio by launching the Ather 450S along with two variants of the Ather 450X in the market of India. The company has introduced the new vehicles with nice design along with an improved range and new features including the switchgear and a joystick. The newly announced Ather 450S is coming with the power of a 5.4 kW motor and the same is capable to accelerate from 0-40 in 3.9 seconds with a peak torque of 22Nm. The scooter is coming with a 2.9 kWh battery and the same is said to provide around 115 km and the vehicle is also coming with a mono suspension at the rear as well as twin telescopic forks at the front.
It also features a disc brake at the front along with a drum back at the rear. The scooter is also having a 7-inch DeepView display and the scooter features a joystick on the left side of the handlebar and this particular thing is meant to navigate between the menu.
While the Ather 450X is having two variants with different battery capacities. One of the models of the scooter is coming with a 2.9 kWh battery while the other variant features a larger 3.7 kWh battery. Both models are coming with the same 6.4 kW motor that generates 26Nm torque.
The regular Ather 450X is capable to provide a range of 111 km while the large-battery variant of the scooter features an IDC-rated range of 150 km. Both models can offer 0-40 in 3.3 seconds and the top speed of the scooter is 90 kmph. Both models of the scooter feature dual disc brakes, rear mono-shock, twin telescopic forks at the front, and an aluminium swingarm.
Having said that, the latest Ather 450S and the 450X scooters are coming with the same body and frame. The latest 450X is coming with a touchscreen. The company is also offering a new feature dubbed FallSafe and the same is having the power of multiple sensors including accelerometer, gyroscope, and bank angle. This feature will detect falls or crashes and the scooter will turn off the motor and start flashing hazard lights when it detects a crash.
The company has introduced the latest Ather 450S and 450X vehicles with 12-inch alloy wheels and they are coming with 90/90 tyres at the front, and 100/80 tyres at the back, it is also confirmed that the wheels are tubeless.
The pricing of the Ather 450S is set at Rs 1,29,999 while the Ather 450X with smaller battery is having a price tag of Rs 1,37,999 and the larger battery variant costs Rs 1,44,999.
